Upsala Area Schools is seeking an ECFE Parent Educator to join our team. The position is approximately 6 hours per week and is responsible for planning and leading meaningful parent education experiences that strengthen families and support the growth and development of children ages birth to five.

Position: Early Childhood Family Education (ECFE) Parent Educator
Location: ISD 487 - Upsala Area Schools, Upsala, MN

Reports to: Early Childhood Coordinator
Hours: Approximately 6 hours per week, Monday and Friday (daytime and evening hours required)

Position Summary:
The Upsala Area Schools Early Childhood Education Program is seeking a dedicated ECFE Parent Educator to join our Early Childhood Family Education team. This position is responsible for planning and leading meaningful parent education experiences that strengthen families and support the growth and development of children ages birth to five. The ideal candidate will bring strong communication skills, a collaborative spirit, and a passion for serving families in our community. Compensation based on qualifications and experience.

Qualifications / Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education required.

  • Minnesota teaching license in Parent Education required.

  • Successful completion of a background check.

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities:

  • Strong ability to work as part of a team.

  • Excellent communication and facilitation skills with parents and families.

  • Knowledge of early childhood development.

  • Familiarity with the Parent Education Core Curriculum Framework and Early Childhood Indicators of Progress.

  • Demonstrates the following character traits: compassion, respect, responsibility, self-discipline, and honesty.

Specific Tasks:

  • Plan, instruct, and implement developmentally appropriate learning experiences for families with children birth to age five.

  • Facilitate parent discussion and education groups.

  • Participate in community outreach activities and collaborate with other organizations to provide programming for families.

  • Maintain accurate program records and complete required documentation.

  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Coordinator.

Schedule & Hours:

  • Approximately 6 hours per week.

  • Scheduled on Mondays and Fridays, including both daytime and evening hours.
