Register Online for Firearms Safety

The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources and Upsala Community Education is sponsoring Firearms Safety Training for individuals who are 11 years and older. The Firearms Safety Certificate becomes valid at age 12. Parents and other adults are welcome to enroll in the class, if certification is needed for out-of-state hunting.
The goal of this course is to teach potential hunters and other firearm users the safe use and handling of all types of weapons. Individuals who successfully complete the course will be awarded a Minnesota DNR Firearms Safety Certificate.

DATES: SEPTEMBER 15 & 16, 2022
MAXIMUM 25 STUDENTS

SEPTEMBER 15, 6-9PM: CLASSROOM TRAINING

Parents are required to come to classroom training so they can sign DNR paperwork.

IMPORTANT: *Students need to complete the online hunter safety course on their own PRIOR to the Thursday class. There is a fee of $24.95 to take the course. Bring your passing certificate and a parent to the first day of class.

SEPTEMBER 16, AFTER SCHOOL: FIELD TEST
Students must wear BLAZE orange for the field test. Location will be the Kevin Lampert residence.

Please remember that elementary children should have a note from home to stay after school for events.
